Dear SV Beaver

You have been our home now for the last three and a half years and it has been one crazy ride so far. It has taken a lot of hard work and modifications to set you up as the strong independent fine ocean crossing vessel you are today. A lot of tears, swearing and frustration involved in the process from our side, but it’s all worth it in the long run. You have been our safe haven through the cold winter in Norway to the sticky hot climate of the tropics.

A lot of things can be said to describe you:
You have a mind of your own. At times you can behave like a toddler throwing tantrums when the conditions don’t suit you. Sometimes you can be a bit of a handful and don’t always listen when we try to control you.

Your ass is flat and wide. Which for a boat is a great compliment because it makes you very fast. You are also very light for your size which we very much appreciate. Sam is doing a great job by always keeping a close eye on your weight, anything unnecessary and excess will be tossed out to keep you in shape (like my cushions and book collection😒).
You have very fine lines. Well in our opinion you are a beauty, despite some small imperfections here and there, but we all have them. They make you who you are and they all contribute to tell the stories of your life on the sea so far.

You are also very spacious inside for your size (except no room for extra cushions and books apparently🤷🏽‍♀️) and have provided us with the upmost comfort anyone can wish for in a home (especially a floating one).

We have so far experienced 17 different countries together onboard you. You have scared us at times, but also turned out to be a strong badass vessel able to tackle wild seas and strong winds. We have complete trust in you and are excited for what’s yet to come. All the oceans we will cross, the new countries we will explore, the people we will meet and all the memories that are yet to be made. Also weirdly excited for the occasional annoying squeeking from you interior as we bob around.. Can’t wait for what’s next!

Yours sincerely
Sam & Nicole
